Minuzzarie

To
Giordano Bruno Nolano Italiano
"You, so famous, so
great that in you they are gathered, / all together, the gifts of all Gods. / You that possess all the gifts of the rich treasure of the
nature, / only one of which is given to possess to every other. / Sublime
Being , object of wonder for everybody, /
in front of which the same nature surprises, overcome by her
work: / O flower of Ausonia, Titano of
your splendid Nola, / Decorum and delight of the one and the other
sky: / Can I perhaps try to talk of you with a poem, / Of you, of which
anybody, in a poem, can worthily speak? / Not me: you win the mouth
and the lira of the same Apollo, / Neither to the Muses it's granted to
know how to sing of you. /What am I able therefore to say of you?, unless
I don't say / Only this: that of you I cannot say anything. / What I have
to do? But is enough for you, o big man, / This praise: by any poem you
can be praised enough".
